Celebrating the Launch of Win With Words
Welcome to the new Win With Words website! Before diving into the ins and outs of translation & localization in upcoming posts, I wanted to share a little of my long rebranding journey with you, looking at how Win With Words came to be.
The Transition from German Freelance Translator to Business Owner
I've been working in the translation & localization industry since 2006 – first as an in-house translator, project manager, and German localization supervisor, then as an independent freelance translator. During those years, I built up a large client base, mainly serving translation agencies around the world.
2016 was a year of enormous change for me. After living and working in Tokyo for ten years, I relocated to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Inspired by the city's vibrant start-up culture, I decided to shift my business model and focus on helping small- and middle-sized companies with their German translation and copywriting needs.
Rebranding
With Amsterdam-based branding agency iGina, I developed a basic concept for my new business and created a brand. The result of all this is my new company, Win With Words, and this website! The fabulous portrait photographer Cristina Stoian put me in the spotlight and created a series of portraits that reflect my new brand.
More than one and a half years have passed from the first idea to the ultimate launch of my new website. It’s been a long and exciting journey, and I’m thrilled to be moving forward and guiding companies through the translation & localization jungle.
